| Actress Soeur Sotheara is a rising "Compul Dara" in Cambodia these days. She made her debut in Khmer entertainment in 2000, but she had started performing in local restaurants since the age of 12. Audiences started to notice Miss Sotheara more as a Movie Star rather than karaoke star after her first feature film "Rattisen Neang Kongrey" in which she played the innocent Pov Pisey the youngest of 12 sisters. It was hard for Sotheara since she had to play the mother of actor Hom Chorra who was much older than her. After the success of "Koun Sdat Domrey Saw" which starred the popular Chon Chanleakeana and Nun Sophal FCI made two more films choosing Sotheara as their lead actress. Her next film was "Makpayongkeo" costarring with Mr. Phiron who host the talk show "Hello Funzone" on ch3 and another budding actress Ly Mirina and Mr. Nun Sophal. Her latest film to be seen in Cambodian cinema "Preah Ko Preah Keo" was quite popular making Sotheara more famous, and the overwhelming fans wanted to see Sotheara match up again with actor Sovann Makara her costar from the film. The next installment will be a film that takes place in modern times "Pka Dor Leur Tmor" which is based on a novel written in the mid 1990s. This will be the first time fans will get to see Soeur Sotheara in a modern drama. Also recently she went on tour with popular pop singer Nop Panyarith in Australia and the concert went well. |
